Hello 

I am very pleased to be able to report that an accumulated beam current
of 2mA, at an energy of 700MeV, was achieved in the Diamond Storage Ring
on Tuesday 30th May.  (The reduced energy and current compared to the
design figures are as a consequence of cooling water being unavailable
at this time.)  The accumulation of beam and its characterisation is a
major milestone for the Diamond project.  During the past year Diamond
has commissioned the Linac and Booster Synchrotron, which have also gone
very well. In all cases, EPICS has performed to meet and exceed our
requirements. Hence, the Control Systems has been a major asset in
enabling effective commissioning to take place. Again another success
for EPICS.

A major thanks to all those in the EPICS collaboration who have assisted
and supported Diamond in the realisation of the Diamond Control System.
