So this time for a change epicsAtomicTest hung completely instead of
dying with an obscure malloc() failure. I tried to attach lldb to the
process, but couldn't get it to stick:

pop-vm$ lldb -p 47257
(lldb) process attach --pid 47257
error: attach failed: lost connection

I hoped that sending it a SIGABRT would cause it to core-dump, but no luck.

Any other ideas how to debug this problem (which only seems to happen
when Jenkins runs this test on the Mac build agent) would be appreciated...
