The $23k license is intended, I'm told, for a large team of
developers. WRS has sold us single-developer licenses ($2300) we can
resell to small development groups affiliated with the APS. They are
working on how to support small groups not directly affiliated with any
large project, and our rep, (Don Woerner 312-380-1270) is drafting a
letter to the APS Research Directorate on this subject. Of course,
they'd have a greater sense of urgency if EPICS were visibly moving to
another OS.
