The only problem I have found with running the record without motors(assuming OMS
boards) is when the board is configured for active high limit switches. The limit
switchs can be disabled in software so implementing this feature should be
straight foreward. A workaround is to change the limit switch configuration to
active low (jumpers in).

The Home sensor function is already implemented in the 'new' motor record.
