Dear all,
I note that some records have the PP attribute set on their .VAL field
and some don't. Under R3.12 those common ones that _don't_ are:
calc, event, histogram, pal, scan, sel, switch, wait
What is the rationale for this? I often attach PP OUTLINKs to .SLNK
ports (.VAL fields) and use them as a combined data and control flow.
This works just fine to output records, where you can put them in
closed_loop mode if you want to fetch your own value for .VAL. However I
just tracked down a problem where such an OUTLINK was attached to a
passive calc and the effect, of course, was to put to the .VAL field
(which posted a monitor) and _not_ to process the record, which was
surprising at first.
