Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System
After diligently searching the "Application Developer's Guide", the
"Record Reference Manual", and the EPICS tutorials, I cannot find the
answer to this question or an example that would answer it.
I wish to instantiate an input record (say, ai) that has no device
support. I plan to set the VAL field from a process on the IOC using a
runtime database access routine (dbPutField) and force the record to
process -- and thereby trigger a change-of-value monitor -- by calling
dbProcess. The question is: what do I put in the DTYP and INPUT fields
of the record when I define it in a .db file?
There are examples of an ai record that serves as an input to one
of the calc record's input values, but all of these are CAPFAST
diagrams that do not show the values in these two fields.
