It provides device support for some of the standard EPICS record types 
that permits them to do SNMP queries to other devices.  We intend to use 
it to make the state of our network switches available as PVs through 
Channel Access.

I'm not sure what the correct SNMP terminology is, but this is an SNMP 
client not a server (it fetches information rather than exporting it), 
so it doesn't sound like it's what you're looking for.
