They've actually been there for quite a long time without doing any 
obvious harm - seq version 2-0-10 built with R3.14.8.2 gave us this:

/usr/local/iocapps/R3.14.8.2/base/3-14-8-2-asd1/bin/solaris-sparc/antelope: 
474 shift/reduce conflicts, 270 reduce/reduce conflicts.

while seq version 2-0-1 built with R3.14.0alpha2 gave us the same numbers:

/usr/local/iocapps/R3.14.0alpha2/support/base/3-14-0-alpha2/bin/solaris-sparc/antelope: 
474 shift/reduce conflicts, 270 reduce/reduce conflicts.

Admittedly in the version of seq that is shipped with R3.13.10, the 
number of conflicts is somewhat less:

../../../bin/solaris/antelope: 1 rule never reduced
../../../bin/solaris/antelope: 364 shift/reduce conflicts, 160 
reduce/reduce conflicts.

however these numbers haven't changed since R3.13.1.


I agree that they're somewhat concerning and that it would be good to 
modify the grammar to get rid of them, but I'm not going to lose any 
sleep over this myself.  If you do manage to resolve some of them, I'd 
be very happy to apply patchs to the repository source code.
