Re: ioc running on a server with a private network

Hello,

By default, channel access uses all broadcast addresses it finds on the host. 
That means an IOC is server on both network cards and a client searches on both 
network cards. Thus, when client and IOC run on the same machine, you get 
duplicate channel warnings. Setting EPICS_CA_AUTO_ADDR_LIST=NO and 
EPICS_CA_ADDR_LIST=’primary IP’ on hosts with two network cards is the correct 
way to solve this problem. Best do it automatically for every user in a script 
in /etc/profile.d/.
