Hi, I have posted a new EPICS CA client Installer at: http://www.ornl.gov/~t6p/Main/Utilities.html All binaries in the new installer are now x86 32/64 bit for maximum compatibility on Intel Macs. For example, with the new JCA/JNI plugin you can run with either 32 or 64 bit versions of Java including the latest 64 bit Java 6. Likewise, the Web CA plugin runs under both 32 and 64 bit browsers. By default, all CA executables (e.g. camonitor, EDM, probe) run as 64 bit, though you can force them to run as 32 bit if you prefer. I have included the latest version of all tools as noted below. Included in this installation are: - EPICS client base 3.14.10 - EDM 1-12-4 including the Startmap application - Objective-C EPICS framework - JCA/JNI plugin 2.3.2 - Web CA plugin 1.2 - CAML 2.0 Please note that this installation will overwrite any previous one. EDM requires the latest versions of the supporting Mac Ports libraries. Follow the instructions in the README file for details on how to get the latest ports as well as how to configure Mac Ports for the required universal binaries. Note that you will have to reconfigure the Scripts as they will be overwritten, so you may want to copy any existing scripts under /Library/EPICS/Scripts for backup before installation. best regards, tom |
