Hello,
My name is Gorka Ronda. I’m working as a R & D engineer in a Spanish company called JEMA.
We are considering using EPICS or TANGO with a control target designed by us, but we are new in the control systems area. The idea is to monitor a plant remotely and control all the equipment there, like in synchrotrons. We have been studying both control systems, but we would like to have opinions about, from people who have experience with them. Why use EPICS? Or why use TANGO? What are differences between them? What is EPICS/TANGO better for?
I will much appreciate any kind of information you can bring me in relation to that. Don’t hesitate to ask any questions you may need to answer me. If you want you can answer me directly to my email.
Thanks in advance.
