Hi Emmanuel,
The config file (save_restore.cmd) didn't change between autosave 4.5 and 5.1, so you should be ok with the old one. The format of .sav files also did not change. Recently, though, I found out that autosave 5.0 and 5.1 do not detect and reject truncated .sav files. (Thanks to Jon Thompson for reporting the problem.) It's possible your trouble was caused by this error, which will be fixed in 5.2. Tim From: [email protected] [[email protected]] on behalf of Emmanuel Mayssat [[email protected]]

Worse, it worked partially. we quickly realized that our new BPM calibration was wrong (non default values were restored though, obviously from an older save file). We restarted the IOC then some other values where incorrect. Autosave even turned on my kicker magnet. ( i.e. this autosave upgrade could really have been a safety hazard!) I quickly identified autosave as the most likely culprit. Indeed autosave had been upgraded just a couple of days before. Although I could go back to what I had before, I tried to move forward. What I found is that I had upgraded from autosave 4-5 to 5-1. Then I realized that the config files which had been generated by 4-5 were being used by 5-1. Could this be the issue? After rebooting a few times and correcting the incorrect values, it seems that now 5-1 is working correctly. But is it? How to make sure that it is the case? Should I wipe out all of my autosave configuration and start from scratch? Is 5-1 ready for production? Regards, -- Emmanuel |
