Subject: Indices returned by asynPortDriver::createParam

Hi all,

There seems to be an implicit assumption (at least in the areaDetector drivers I've looked at) that the indices returned by calls to createParam will be sequential.  (To test whether a parameter 'belongs' to a driver, its index is tested to see if it lies in the range [index returned by first call, index returned by final call] inclusive.

createParam is not documented as far as I can tell ("it's not a public member of the class"), so is it safe to assume this behaviour?

Thanks

Phil
