Hi Joey, Looking at the portescap web site, they offer a few different encoders. You should explore them. To use your potentiometer feedback, you would need to set up the potentiometer as a voltage divider and digitize the output using an ADC, which involves more hardware. If you tack an encoder on the back of your motor, it will, I think, take up less space than your potentiometer solution, since the controller can handle the encoder signals directly. It looks like your motor is attached to a reducing gearbox, so the encoder could be low-resolution if it is attached directly to the (fast) motor shaft. Pete.
