Hi Patrick,

(Another Andrew here). I don’t know very much about this but drag-and-drop from MEDM was an issue a long time ago, I think Motif’s D&D protocol may be somewhat strange, but to help with that APS wrote another EPICS extension called namecapture for use with other X11 clipboard programs. If you’re currently building MEDM this might be helpful, although as I said I don’t really understand the issues properly myself.

Hi Patrick,

I think medm must use a different drag-drop mechanism from that used by Qt.
The best I could do was use middle-click on medm to copy the PV name into the 

copy-paste buffer, and then paste it to a Qt widget.
