Hi, Andrew!

Hmm, I think that's going to be hard to find, and it doesn't seem clear
that you can use a DTYP of "Soft Timestamp" in a stringin record. I'd
expect documentation on the "Soft Timestamp" DTYP to appear in the
stringin documentation at

  https://urldefense.us/v3/__https://epics.anl.gov/base/R7-0/8-docs/stringinRecord.html__;!!G_uCfscf7eWS!eLADVCnYetpN0XAqpFzpPW3IqHxN48gsQg0yYpgSMlUgIxmL8wI5BuvH2QSuaHaZKg0leA62uirY14GM0NR-nw$

That has a "Device Support" section with a "Device Support for Soft
Records" subsection, and it includes information about the DTYP="Soft
Channel" device support as well as the DTYP="getenv" device support. I
would expect to find information about the DTYP="Soft Timestamp" device
support here, or if not here, at least a link to information about it
here.

Looking at the ai documentation at

  https://urldefense.us/v3/__https://epics.anl.gov/base/R7-0/8-docs/aiRecord.html__;!!G_uCfscf7eWS!eLADVCnYetpN0XAqpFzpPW3IqHxN48gsQg0yYpgSMlUgIxmL8wI5BuvH2QSuaHaZKg0leA62uirY14EpAdkyTg$

it seems to document the DTYP field in the "Input Specification"
subsection of the "Parameter Fields" section. This seems different than
the stringin record. I think it would be good for the reference manual
to be consistent in where it documents fields for each record.

Regards,

Lewis
