Strip Tool is a Motif application which acquires data from either Channel Access or CDEV and plots it in real time as a strip chart. It is useful for debugging controls applications and for monitoring data trends.
Strip Tool was primarily written by Christopher A. Larrieu at TJNAF. Modifications and enhancements have been made by Albert Kagarmanov at DESY and by Janet Anderson and Kenneth Evans, Jr. at APS. It has also benefited from the contributions and suggestions of other members of the EPICS collaboration. The code is currently being coordinated and maintained at APS.

Strip Tool was coordinated into a single version in the summer of 2002 with contributions by Christopher A. Larrieu (JLAB) and Albert Kagarmanov (DESY).
The source code repository for this software is the github project epics-extensions/StripTool.
The following tar files contain source code only (no binaries), and were compressed using gnuzip.
Strip Tool requires that the Motif and X11 header files and libraries be available and that the X11 and MOTIF settings in CONFIG_SITE.<host_arch> be set correctly. For building on Ubuntu a list of packages needed can be found on the MEDM page.
