SLS  CONTROLS : Orbit correction

  • Requires very fast communication between (12) sectors
  • Each VME crates exchanges BPM readings with neighbors
  • Uses SHARC DSP board in each crate
  • Read BPM values
  • Transmit to neighbors (4uS).
  • Calculate corrections
  • Send new values to Power Supplies (10uS)
