Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System
All the EPICS mailing lists now have a second RSS feed which provides
the full text of the messages sent to the list. Replace the '.xml'
extension in the old feed's URL with '.php' to get the new feed, or see
the main EPICS web-page for the list to get the full URLs of the feeds.
The old .xml feeds contained just the message headers, but I managed to
wrangle our MHonArc list-archiving software into generating a PHP output
file which the web-server expands when it gets read to pull the full
text from the individually archived messages into the generated XML.
Both feeds point to the same archived message files.
Note that there are some circumstances where the new feed can break. If
that does happen though the old feed should still work properly.
As usual the message archives will be rolling over at the beginning of
the new year, and when that happens all messages from the previous year
will disappear from the RSS feed index — there's nothing I can easily do
about that.
Happy New Year!
