The OMS VME58 driver I'm writting needs to wait for 800-900us for
the board to complete it's readback data area update. I don't want to
pound sand that long but using the 16ms resolution of the system clock
would kill the performance of the driver.
The staight forward thing to do is to grab one of the
extra timers on the MVME167 for my exclusive use and implement
a nanosleep like function that only enables the timer when it is needed.
This solution would be processor board dependant and there is no
guarantee that someone else in not trying to use that same timer.
Has there been any work done in mananging the timer resources
at a system level?
If not, what timers are available for use on the 167? I believe there
are 2 each on the vme2 and pcc2 chips. Vxworks already has an interface
to the pcc2 timers through the BSP sysClk and sysAuxClk library. Is
the sysAuxClk available?
