Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System
Any experience with rCVS out there yet? I have not looked at it in any
detail, but it seems like something that we could make use of.
For those not in the know (yet), there is a new kid in town... a
distributed version of CVS that allows users to checkout and update a
repository at a remote site (that is, a non-NFS mounted site.) To the
best of my knowledge, it uses pretty simple rpcs like RSH to do its
work. Note that things like RSH have kerberized authentication these
days and that pretty much covers the concerns that I recall mentioned
in our past discussions of distributed version control.
