Subject: Developments regarding PC hardward and software platforms

One day I will take good notes at these meetings - but I am not there yet.
I need some help to put a complete picture of interested parties together.
It would be good if we could avoid duplication and perhaps even work together
on some of the issues surrounding PC hardware and operating system technology
into EPICS. I have a partial list of the topics that arose. Please let me know
if your project is interested in putting resource (or already has put resource)
into any of these topics. Any visualization, database configuration, archiving
etc. currently being done on the PC would be very interesting in this
section. Personally, I think this is one of the strong possible directions for
the future. It would be helpful to share some of the pioneering work and
determine the porting and performance issues that we have to face in this
move. THanks. Bob
