Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System
I've been trying to make code able to read data taken by the epics
archiver (AR) in binary format. So far, I haven't been able to figure
out the format of the binary file that the archiver produces. Can
somebody email me with a description of this format (ie where the data
and timestamps are stored, what the extraneous numbers after each channel
heading are, if the data are stored in 4 or 8 or 16 byte
format (as floating point numbers), etc.)? If not, could I get a copy of
the pertinent source code from AR or ARR? (I have this code, but
it's difficult to read) Although I have ARR, I'm interested in
automatically breaking down the data into 128 files corresponding to
each of our channels every 24 hours. Thanks.
