Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System
We ran into a problem while trying to use a string field
in a record to hold a "printf" format string to control the
characters sent to a serial device.
We wanted to be able to put octal escaped characters into
the field value, along the lines:
FIELD(SEL, "\23%2.2d\n")
However, when the database attempts to load, we get a syntax
error message from dbLoadRecords.
It seems that the parser in dbLoadRecords does not expand
escape sequences within quoted strings. Can anyone think
of a way around this limitation?
