Hi, Janet indicates that this is not a CA disconnect problem based on the alarm handler display. Nevertheless, I should mention that there is a paramter that adjust the delay required before the CA client library decides that an unresponsive connection is disconnected. > Seems like the alarm handler is a bit too impatient about deciding if > it has a connection to the channel. Does that sound right? Is there a > way to configure the alarm handler to avoid this? > If the IOC is so busy that the CA server is starved for CPU for EPICS_CA_CONN_TMO (default is 30 sec) then the client will disconnect. When increasing this parameter, you must of course conclude that your client can tollarate situations where IOCs are so heavily loaded that your client looses contact for more than 30 sec. Jeff
