Subject: pvload / pvsave

Dear all,

If anyone is interested, there is a new version of the pvload / pvsave
utilities at:

ftp://ftp.keck.hawaii.edu/pub/wlupton/pvload-2-12.tar.gz

(it's only 17kB).

pvload reads a C-like list of channel assignments and sets the channels.
pvsave, which is new, uses a pvload-format file as a template and writes
a new file of the same format but with current channel values filled in.
Arrays are supported. Both tools can be run from Unix or from VxWorks.

I apologise for the fact that there is overlapping functionality with
other tools here... but we have found them useful, especially in IOC
startup scripts to set initial values.

For further details, see the comments at the top of pvload.y. There is
no other documentation at present.

  Cheers,

  William
