I have had similar problems with MIPS architecture and, in general, my
approach has been to fix the bugs. Usually they are to do with
uninitialized variables or less than careful casting of pointers
leading to bad byte alignment. They are fairly easy to trace since if
you just run up the debugger and attach to the suspended task it tells
you exactly where the problem is.

Since the Bancomm 635 has my name plastered all over it I would be
interested in knowing the place where it is failing in this instance.
