Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System
Hello
I am currently trying to use a Caen V265 ADC with an XYcom XY240 DIO to
read and process signals at ~600Hz. The syncronising signals are input to
the XY240 board, and used to generate VMEbus Interrupts. These then call
procedures in the XY240 driver that give semaphores depending on the
interrupt. These semaphores are needed by tasks run from the Caen driver
in order to continue.
The XY240 side works fine without a Caen board in the crate. A damaged
Caen board was used to write the tasks and test the processing of signals
and it worked fine when used. However, it has a fixed gate width which
cannot be controlled, neither duration nor position, so it's not much use.
A number of "good" Caen board were then tried. None of these would allow
the crate to boot. It would always hang during the boot up sequence. They
worked fine with the old drivers, or with the new drivers and no interrupt
signals connected. However, once the interrupts were sent, the crate
crashed, no matter how slowly they were sent. From commenting out bits and
adding others to the drivers, the problem does not appear to be in the
code ( at least not obviously ) and I was wondering if anyone had any
suggestions.
Thanks in advance
