Subject: CA beacon anomaly diagnostic

All,

There is a new diagnostic command line program in R3.14 called
"casw" (short for CA server watch) which prints a message to
standard out each time that it sees a CA server beacon anomaly.
CA clients with unresolved channels reset their CA search
interval timers whenever they see a beacon anomaly.
The "casw" diagnostic might be used by sites for the following
purposes to track down improper configuration or bugs which might be
generating false beacon anomalies and therefore result in unnecessary
CA search traffic. The program currently takes no arguments on the
command line.

The program will show up in the next release of EPICS R3.14.

Jeff
