Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System
Hi,
I am using Bob Dalesio's save_restore/dbrestore (bumpless reboot) software and
notice that the save files, which it writes, follow the current working
directory of the console shell. This means that, if one invokes
create_monitor_set during ioc boot and then later issues a "cd xxx" at the ioc
shell prompt, a new set of save files will be written in the new directory as
soon as one of the monitored PVs changes. On rebooting the ioc, the database
reverts to the state before the "cd"!
Was this behaviour a design decision? I think that saving the full path of the
save file, rather than just its name, in the chlist structure of save_restore.c
would correct this behaviour, but maybe there are arguments to the contrary ...
David
