Dear John,

I am working with Objectivity for Java as a part of efforts for simulation
file catalog at Vanderbilt. Recently we have installed Objectivity 6.1
at our local Linux machines. I tried to run my code in java. I encountered
problems due to mismatch of java version with Objy/DB 6.1. It needed
JDK 1.3.* and not JDK 1.2*. Here are some comments on your concern:

1. I worked with Objy/DB 5.* and JDK 1.2* without problem. And now my
tests with 6.1 and JDK 1.3* is also fine.
2.  Performance is satisfied.
3. Integration with Java is smooth.
4. Support from Objectivity.com is good. During my recent problem, the
support contact was very prompt and was able to provide clue of the
    problem.

If you need more information, please feel free to contact me.

Regards,

Indrani

John,

        Greetings.

We are using it here at PHENIX.

I believe that we have a few instances of integration
with java, but we are not doing that extensively.

Don't know so much about ease of integration with
java.  A person that may know is Indrani Ojha, who is copied
on this email.

I know that we did integrate it with EPICS and that
worked out OK.

The quality of support I would say was average.  I
don't have so much to compare it with.

        regards,

        Lars Ewell
