Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System
to: All,
Thanks for all responses!
Lots of valuable experience learned! This will help in
deciding what IOC's to consider.
Longevity is a very important issue to consider! Our
current EPICS systems are HP 9000/745 computer based. These
are working fine at this time. But getting parts for the
HP's is "very close" to impossible today. The HP's are the
primary reason for considering system upgrades.
We are in the upgrade planning stage now, but are working
toward using Redhat Linux 7.3 PC computers to replace the HP's.
to: David Purcell <[email protected]>,
Yes, we would like to share PCI experiences. Will
contact you if this is the route we take. After all the
input, we must now consider these options.
Thanks,
