I am trying to interface an ACU-RITE Linear Encoder through the Step-Pak Motor Rack and the BCDA-005 Transition Module to the OMS VME58-4E Motor Controller. Known concerns: Unipolar signals so installed appropriate jumpers, No index signal (no signal attached), 5V power from the VME crate. The encoder works for small moves, but at some points it “jumps’ to some unrelated position. Has anyone seen this behavior, used this or a similar linear encoder, or have any ideas of the cause.
