Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System
Dear folks,
I've placed a new 3.13-compatible version of autoSaveRestore
on our web site. This new version represents a new orientation
in save_restore: previously it relied on a file server to protect
parameter values from problems and reboots of the ioc; now it
protects parameter values from file-server problems as well.
Among other improvements, up to ten backup copies of save files
are maintained, status is written to EPICS PV's, file server and
path can be changed at runtime, NFS is remounted automatically
when too many I/O errors have occurred, and copies of corrupted
files are saved before being overwritten.
A 3.14-compatible version of autosave does exist, by the way, in
the synApps CVS repository, but this new version has not yet been
ported to 3.14.
