It looks like Motif changed versions while the OS X tarball was being put 
together.  While we look into fixing this could you try downloading the full 
CD image at

http://www.aps.anl.gov/epics/download/examples/vlinac0-7.iso.gz

and running the installer which it provides?  I tried this last night and was 
able to get the 'virtual linac' IOC and MEDM sessions to work.
