If you look at the date and EPICS version number on your Record 
Reference Manual, you'll probably see that it dates back to 1998 and 
EPICS R3.13.  Unfortunately it has not been kept up to date, and there 
have been many changes to the record fields since then.  No one seems 
willing to update it, and the core developers are all too busy to do it 
themselves.
