huh! You shouldn't have to move the libgpib.* files to asyn.
Those are system wide libraries.
In the configure/RELEASE of asyn set gpib_DIR=/usr/local/lib
The *.so file is a dynamic library also located in /usr/local/lib. You
probably need to set the LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable to
include /usr/local/lib. Check the online literature on LD_LIBRARY_PATH.
You are almost there ;-)
