A successfully home search is not the only way to establish an absolute 
reference position.
Users who "set" the absolute position of their motors are defining an 
absolute reference
position that is meaningfully to their application.

Users who want/need to do unconditional home search operations can 
accomplish that at
a higher level than the motor record by temporarily disabling soft limit 
checks (DHLM = DLLM = 0)
before initiating a home search.
