Hi everybody, I am a new user of EPICS. I installed Ubantu with Epics DVD in my PC. I read in some document that for using VDCT, we need to install JRE. I downloaded jre.1.6 and installed it in my desktop, but still i could not open VDCT. When i try to open VDCT, it asks for some java file. It seems some settings/paths need to be set. Can anyone tell/suggest me the clear procedure of linking VDCT with java. I want to run the VDCT using the installed jre. I am using epics base3.14.10 Can anybody list the steps needed for running the VDCT after the installation of jre? Does it need to install any particular version of JRE?
