IIRC there is a 'S' checkbox for the widget (in edit mode: open x-y graph's
'trace properties' dialog) where you can say that the data is signed (unsigned
if unchecked). There is no other way for edm to know since there are no
signed/unsigned CA cardinal types.

but EDM (1-12-33 on linux) treats the -1 as unsigned and thus plots 65535 rather than -1:
