I did a package check on our diskless headless server image based on
RHEL5 and found all the packages were already installed. Our image isn't stripped down to any extent, so this may not be true for other headless servers. - Bruce P.S. You can query the package names for the needed libraries with: yum info freetype libgomp libX11 libXext bzip2 lcms libpng libxml2 fontconfig [email protected] wrote: freetype gomp X11 Xext bz2 lcms png12 xml2 fontconfig I just tested a statically built version of the simDetector on a Linux system (marCCD) to which I had added no additional libraries, and it worked. This means that the above libraries were indeed available as system libraries. Can anyone comment on whether it is "safe" to count on the above libraries being available on "most" Linux systems? Thanks, MarkHi I'm using the rather conservative RHEL5 and those are all present. I suspect that any Gnome desktop system will have them installed. They won't all be present on a headless server install. James -- Bruce Hill Member Technical Staff SLAC National Accelerator Lab 2575 Sand Hill Road M/S 10 Menlo Park, CA 94025 |
