Hello,
I have some questions about the cPCI/EPICS system with motorola
mcp750 of APS/LBNL.
In the paper "In-Situ Calibration: Migrating Control System IP Module
Calibration from the Bench to the Storage Ring", it shows a cPCI/EPICS
system as follows, and Labview communicates with the cpu
board and uses ActiveX and SCA to interface to EPICS.
![]() While from the paper "The Advanced Light Source Accelerator
Control System At Ten Years From Commissioning" and Tech-Talk, I learn that the
control system at the Advanced Light Source uses about 15 cPCI crates with
mcp750 CPUs running EPICS on VxWorks, and 12 of them are used for fast
orbit feedback system, which I concern with.
My question is that, What is the cPCI hardware infrastructure and
the EPICS architecture of the system with mcp750 cpu board? How does EPICS
on mcp750 control cPCI? Is the cPCI/EPICS system with mcp750 upgraded from
the one above?
Thanks!
Lin Wang
