Subject: | EDM Animated Symbol widget Angle PV property question |

Dear All, I have been trying to use an animated symbol widget to represent something on a rotational axis on an EDM screen with a symbol consisting of a filled square on a dotted line circle. I anticipated the Angle PV could be set to a value which
would cause the symbol to be rotated about its centre to the specified orientation angle. Instead the behaviour seems to be that it causes the centre of the widget as defined by the X PV and Y PV relative to be rotated about the centre as defined by the
X and Y field values. In other words, it moves the widget, but keeps the same orientation, which does not seem terribly useful as that could be achieved by manipulating X PV and Y PV. Is this the intended behaviour? Is there documentation available on the Animated Symbol widget? (Please note Diamond cannot access APS EPICS site at the moment – see other thread). Has anyone got a working example of something similar? Thanks, Linda Pratt Software Systems Engineer
