That is interesting. We have not upgraded our Web server to my knowledge. However, we are behind the APS firewall, so it is likely that the same firewall is causing problems to both the APS Web pages and the cars.uchicago.edu Web pages.

I also see this problem from Daresbury. I suspect we are ultimately accessing the web through the same systems, or at least same type of systems as Diamond (so an STFC/Diamond wide problem).
Also:
http://cars.uchicago.edu/
appears to exhibit the same behaviour, I cannot seem to access the areaDetector pages and get the same ICAP error.

Subject: APS web site currently inaccessible from Diamond
I'm guessing that at some time in the last couple of weeks the web server for www.aps.anl.gov has been upgraded. At present at Diamond we are unable to access any pages on this site, our web proxy reports (after a long timeout): "ICAP protocol error".
Our IT support folk say:
"The problem is that [www.aps.anl.gov] uses an updated version of the ICAP protocol. The problem is that this version is not compatible with anything else."
Unfortunately this is one of those classic problems where the problem can be freely passed around without being fixed. Is there anything that can be done at the APS end to fix this, or is there any configuration advice I can pass through to our IT people? (Unfortunately I am quite a few communication steps removed from the offending system and have no idea what we're actually running...)
