Hi Jingchen. I've created a new mail thread because your question was linked to this subject: Motor model 3 support for OMS MAXv-8000? To answer your question: Kay already mentioned the SNL editor. - It helps writing SNL programs - Running on Linux it will also help compiling and running your programs (this is not used here because we are running mostly on Windows) - It provides a basic graphical representation of the states (We are still looking for collaborators to improve this display...) To configure our field bus I/O we have an I/O configurator - creates configuration files for the EPICS field bus driver - provides references to the I/O which are used from the Database Creation Tool - created configuration files for the simulation tool Database Creation Tool - Create EPICS databases - most important feature: hierarchical definition of prototypes (records or set of records) - instantiation of prototypes into databases - as a minor point it also provide a graphical view of the created database (this is not an editor - like VDCT -- for us hierarchy and instantiation have a higher priority) All tools are CSS plugins and can be added to CSS at your desire. Cheers Matthias p.s. Jörg is using Eclipse also for IOC development - he'll describe that in another mail
