Actually I managed to find it just a moment ago.  It's under Edit -> Preferences -> CSS Applications -> Trends -> Data Browser -> Default Archive Data Sources.  I think it's just a preferences thing with no need to recompile, but we'll see.

I likely will want to use the relational database archiver, but I'll likely need to get that going first, assuming it is separate from CSS (I'm rather new at CSS and any EPICS archiver).  We are currently using the old channel access archiver and the archive viewer to view the databases.  

For the moment, I'm simply trying to get the data browser to view the old archive in place of the archive viewer.

I do have a question though on the relational database archiver.  Does the RDB archiver use a similar setup to the channel access archiver?  That is, does it still use .xml files as index files to tell the archiver when and how to monitor EPICS channels?

In case you'd like to use BEAUTY and BEAST as the archiving system and alarm system respectively, you'd have to edit the source code in Eclipse RCP, then compile everything (CSS, Archive server, Alarm server). But I guess, if you know the address of the relational database, login and password, you can adjust it in the Preferences. 

Or do you wish to use another archiver I'm completely ignorant of?

I've downloaded CSS for use at STAR.  I hope to replace the old channel archiver and use the data browser instead, but I'm having trouble getting it to work.  I downloaded the NSLSII version since they are located at Brookhaven National Lab as well but it came preconfigured for their setup.  Specifically, when I start it up it automatically tries to load ArchiveDataServer.cgi from their location.  I know where this file is located on our machine, but I need to know how to change this path, as well as any other NSLSII specific settings.  Can this be configured from the workspace or do I have to do it somewhere in the source code?
