There is a collection of C programs to read and translate
MDA files in the synApps utils directory, and also here:
http://www.aps.anl.gov/bcda/mdautils/
There are python programs for reading and translating MDA files in
the synApps utils directory. Utils is not published separately from
synApps, but you can browse the repository here:
https://subversion.xray.aps.anl.gov/synApps/utils/trunk/mdaPythonUtils/
There is also a wxPython program to display MDA files in the utils
directory:
https://subversion.xray.aps.anl.gov/synApps/utils/trunk/mdaExplorer/
There is IDL iTools-based software to display MDA files here:
http://cars.uchicago.edu/software/idl/epics_sscan_display.html
There is an IDL program for displaying scan data both from data files,
and from running sscan records. It's described here, but the releases
on this page are very old:
http://www.aps.anl.gov/bcda/dataVis/scanSee.html
There is a program called "dview" for displaying MDA files, written by
Dohn Arms (the mdautils author). I don't know if there is a published
version of the program.

Subject: Reading binary file from sscan saveData
Hi,
we would like to use "sscan" EPICS record for some automated data
taking
using motorized stages. Everything seems to work fine so far. The
result
of the standard setup for "sscan" are binary files which are written
using a library
contained in the "sscan" record. Also there is a description of the
format of these files.
But before doing anything on our own with these binary files, we
would
like to know:
o Is there an example (or a library) of how to read these files using
a
code written C/C++?
o Is there already an application that can read these data and create
graphical
presentations of the data.
Thanks in advance,
Hovanes Egiyan.
