Thanks for the info. I was actually aware all of that. Unfortunately, we are sort of stuck with where we are; we were asked to put RDB archiver use on hold for now, as the computing group wants to determine and make sure the existing computer can handle the RDB archiver operation.
I see no problem with the CPU and RAM (the computer is a year old, so it should be able to handle; Quad Core i7 with 16 GB of RAM), but we simply don't know how much disk space it would require as it archives the PVs. We need to provide that info, but we wouldn't know that without running.
All I am looking for is somebody using the RDB archiver with data rate and disk usage rate. If somebody could give me an idea, I really appreciate that…
