I've suggested that Dirk change StreamDevice to do this, but it is non-trivial because most of StreamDevice is not aware of asyn, and does not necessarily have access to the required asynUser structure when it needs it.
If StreamDevice used the errlogPrintf() API from libCom (errlog.h) then you could at least use 'eltc 0' to disable the messages. I would only want to do that temporarily because it turns off all errlog messages, but it is useful when you can't see what you're typing because of the volume of output.
