Is there are firewall running on the system?  You need to have ports 5064 and 5065 for both UDP and TCP unblocked.  The firewall affects the localhost as well.

dear all,

  I created an example application according to the Developer's guide, and adding the following lines in .bashrc file and source it:

export EPICS_CA_AUTO_ADDR_LIST=NO
export EPICS_CA_ADDR_LIST=localhost

and typing the command ./st.cmd to start the softioc, but the following error message is shown:

../online_notify.c: CA beacon (send to "127.0.0.1:5065") error was "Connection refused"

Could you please help me to deal with the problem, thanks in advance !
